A LIFE IN DESIGN
My journey as an artist has been shaped by a lifelong curiosity about how we see and experience the world around us. My passion for art led me to study Art and Design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where I developed a foundation in drawing, form, composition, and visual storytelling.
My professional career at an artist and an industrial designer gave me the opportunity to apply those skills to products used in everyday life. That experience continues to influence my painting today, particularly my attention to light how it interacts with our world and our stories we live.
PAINTING WHAT MOVES ME
Painting gives me a different kind of freedom. I am drawn to places, moments, and subjects that create a feeling before they become an image.
The ocean has become a recurring subject in my work, but it is also a part of my everyday life. I spend as much time there as I can, whether surfing, exploring the coastline, or setting up my easel to paint plein air. The constantly changing light, color, movement, and atmosphere continue to give me something new to discover.
I also paint landscapes, figures, and quiet moments that invite the viewer to slow down and look a little longer. My goal is not simply to reproduce what I see, but to capture something of what it felt like to be there.
